Golf Swing Analysis in Kansas City

3D Golf Swing Analysis

The F.I.T. Golf Experience is a rehab-specific program combining the Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) physical screening assessment and the technology of the K-Motion swing analysis and 3D motion capture system. By combining these tools, we are able to identify musculoskeletal deficiencies and dysfunctional movement patterns that either cause pain or prevent you from executing your most efficient, powerful golf swing possible. We then pair these findings with real-time golf swing analysis and biofeedback training to create the ultimate rehab program specific to YOU and your needs as a rotational athlete.

What it Treats

We combine K-Motion + the TPI screening assessment to assist in diagnosing and treating a range of musculoskeletal issues specific to rotational athletes, and golfers in particular, such as:

  • Low back pain
  • Golfer’s elbow
  • Shoulder pain
  • Knee pain
  • Neck pain

The F.I.T. Golf Experience

At F.I.T., we only use the best, most efficient technologies for our clients. That is why we implement K-Motion as part of the F.I.T. Golf Experience. K-Motion is an innovative, cloud-based program that helps golf athletes reduce injury and become better at their sport. This end-to-end training software uses state-of-the-art sensor accuracy with 3D imaging capabilities that help our team of chiropractors and physical therapists understand your unique movement patterns.

Not only designed for golf, the program encompasses features to help baseball players and other athletes in swing-related sports. In fact, K-Motion is so effective that the program is used by:

  • Major League Baseball teams
    National Hockey League teams
Seven out of the top ten teachers on the Golf Digest Top Teachers List
    World-renowned fitness coaches
    Olympic athletes

We don’t only provide the best technology available; we also combine the K-Motion 3D golf swing analysis with the Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) physical screening assessment. TPI is a highly known educational organization that focuses on studying the human body and how it functions during golf swings.

By studying thousands of golfers, whether top professionals or recreational players, TPI gathered data to help golfers swing more efficiently. With an assessment at F.I.T. Muscle & Joint Clinic in Kansas City, we can understand how your body moves as you swing a club to help you perform better. We can also analyze physical limitations you may have that could negatively impact your swing and lead to injury.

We don’t limit which type of golf athletes we accept. Regardless of your size, expertise, or fitness level, the F.I.T. Golf Experience can help you make the most out of your body. Our specialized golf swing analysis includes one-on-one service with one of our team members who will guide you through the process. No matter the circumstance, we always take an individualized approach, because every client is different and deserves the best care.

How 3D Motion Capture Works

The K-Motion software allows us to evaluate a patient during their golf swing in real time using a 3D avatar and biofeedback system. K-Motion also contains a training feature that allows us to create a specific program for each patient that is unique to their deficiencies and limitations. The programs can include swing drills with real-time audio and visual feedback as well as functional movements, which sensors worn by the patient can track in order to monitor progress through a treatment plan.

The three-step process is fairly simple:

Step One: The patient will strap on the vest, belt, and arm strap, all of which have sensors to read your movement patterns.

Step Two: The patient will stand with a straight, aligned spine as the system calibrates the body. Once calibration is complete the patient will swing and hit the balls using his or her normal swing. As the patient moves, the sensors pick up data and transmits it to the 3D motion system.

Step Three: Live 3D data appears on our screen, giving us insight on the body’s movement patterns and how to improve them. The software generates multiple statistics related to physical limitations, specific swing characteristics, and how they compare to other golfers in their age range and to PGA golfers.

3D Motion Capture at F.I.T

With 3D motion capture, our focus is NOT on changing a patient’s golf swing. It is purely focused on biomechanics, pain resolution, and introducing a combination of strength, mobility and stability training when appropriate. We strive to help the patient achieve his or her goals in the gym, on the golf course, and during normal daily activities, such as mowing the lawn or doing laundry.

TPI gives us golf-specific injury assessment and rehabilitation techniques that allow us to look at how injuries develop, how to most effectively treat them, and how we can address specific physical limitations to improve performance. We combine these findings with the same great treatment methods we use in our office in a one-on-one setting to ensure the most personalized treatments and results possible.

Our goal with the F.I.T. Golf Experience is to create the ultimate combination of treatment, rehab, training, and education to keep our patients and golfers moving as efficiently and pain-free as possible. As medical professionals, we strive to work alongside a network of the best golf and fitness professionals to create the greatest possible outcomes for our patients on and off the course. It’s great to have the best musculoskeletal specialized doctor or golf coach on your team, but why limit yourself when you could have both and elevate your success as a player?  We believe that when a patient has a team of professionals in their corner who all share the same goal of making YOU better—the results will speak for themselves.
